Electric muffle furnaces are designed for laboratory and industrial applications. It is used for engineering tests of soils and aggregates, cement testing, ashing organic and inorganic samples, gravimetric analysis, ignition tests, etc. Cases are welded steel construction; perforated base case design keeps benchtop cool. Heating elements are embedded in refractory cement for structural strength and long life. The furnace is insulated with Insu-Light molded ceramic fiber insulation; a percentage input controller allows desired temperature to be selected with repeatable results. It also features a fluorescent digital display. Each unit contains a Chromel/Alumel thermo-couple directly connected to 32-2200°F, 0-1200°C dual scale pyrometer.
Unit contains three heating element surfaces, top and both sides. Unit heats up to about 1600°F (871°C) in 40 minutes. Door can be used as a work shelf or be latched in various positions to aid ventilation during burn-out procedures. Includes 3-wire cord and plug.

Features top venting; door safety switch cuts power when door is open. Manual models have dual-scale analog meter. Automatic models feature digital temperature display. Pre-punched ports at rear of furnace allow atmosphere injection; order connection tubing separately. Stainless-steel shelf is optional. H-30204.4F includes cord and plug.

Furnaces exhibit excellent temperature uniformity and use a ceramic fiber board lining to ensure energy efficiency. Heating elements are designed in a unique configuration, which lays directly on a fiber-groove surface to ensure the longest heating element life, best heat radiation properties and minimum distortion of heating elements at high temperature. All models use long-life platinum/rhodium S-type thermocouple. 30-segment, easy-to-use PID programmable temperature controller, allows control of heating rates, dwells (time holds) and cooling rates. Safety feature includes a safety interlock system to shut off power when furnace door open.
