Marshall Molds & Ejectors, continued
Molds are comprised of a base plate, mold cylinder and a removable extension collar. These molds are available in 4" (100mm) or 6" (150mm) sizes to comply with these standards: ASTM D5581, ASTM D6926.
To complete a Marshall test, the samples prepared using Marshall test molds must be removed from the molds they are formed in. This can be accomplished in several ways. The least involved and costly alternative involves using a mold extractor. This tool is used to push the sample from the mold with the use of a load frame. Several sample ejectors are also available for this purpose, which provide a speedy method for those requiring large numbers of mold samples to be extracted.
