Humboldt’s HM-5810 and HM-5820 Elite Series automated pressure controllers are designed for handling saturation, consolidation and permeation of a triaxial test sample. Both units can be used solely for permeability testing, eliminating the need for distribution panels. The HM-5820 model can perform a shear function with the use of its integral load frame. Both are built around Humboldt’s integral data logger with touchscreen control, so they can be used as standalone devices capable of full test control and data logging.

Each of the Elite Series units features (3) data input channels (one for each pressure transducer), or only one is needed for permeability testing. Both models are ASTM D5084 compliant and can also be controlled by a networked computer at any location.

The HM-5240 is a small footprint, fully automated pneumatic pressure controller which is highly accurate up to 150psi (1000kpa) pressure and 100cc (100ml) in volume. Four integral and independent data acquisition channels are provided for standalone configuration or accessed through a LAN-networked computer using Humboldt’s NEXT software. The waterproof touchscreen provides colorful, at-a-glance monitoring of testing functions and the data can be viewed in several formats and downloaded to a computer. The controller is ASTM D4767 and ASTM D7181 compliant.

The HM-5250 is a small footprint fully automated hydraulic pressure controller, with two models for high accuracy up to 150psi or 500psi. Designed for geotechnical laboratory triaxial testing (UU, CU and CD), it provides control of cell pressure, back pressure, pore water and volume change when used with an Elite Series load frame. Built with durable, quality components, stepper motors and precision gears ensure smooth, reliable operation and precise results.

Our HM-5240U allows your old HM-2450A.3F pressure controller and HM-2315 volume change apparatus to be upgraded to a new pressure controller. Just ship back your old units and they will be altered to create a new HM-5420.3F pneumatic pressure controller.

Finally, the HM-2315 volume change apparatus measures volume change of a soil sample. It can be used as part of an automated system, or with a linear strain transducer or a digital indicator.
